The seed-distribution idea — relief that plants a harvest, not just a meal
When the 2022 floods submerged Pakistan’s farmland, relief convoys carried food rations. Muhammad Ejaz Awan argued for something different: put certified wheat seed and inputs into the hands of flood-affected farmers in time for the Rabi sowing window — so that every family fed itself from its own land within one season instead of queueing for the next ration.
He took the proposal onto national television and pressed it with government, chambers and relief actors. Seed-and-input distribution became a mainstream part of the flood-recovery conversation, and the Rabi season that followed delivered one of the strongest wheat harvests in the country’s history.
The same conviction runs through Faizna Green Bites: frustration and disaster become opportunity when people are given a productive asset — a seed, a kitchen, a cart — rather than a handout.

The founder’s story, in his own words
Muhammad Ejaz Awan shares his multi-dimensional agro-innovation vision with H.E. Ms. Pang Chunxue, Chargé d’Affaires, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China — entrepreneurs in humanitarian affairs, addressing the ground realities and priorities of the public to increase ownership, so that CPEC becomes hope for hopeless communities through non-traditional, out-of-the-box innovative models.
The barren-lands cultivation vision, given by Muhammad Ejaz in 2020 as Chairman of Faizna Agro Farming SMC Pvt Ltd, began with fruit, vegetable and multiple-cropping projects in Dera Ismail Khan — now aiming for cities across Pakistan and onward to Central Asian, OIC and 77 developing countries. The goal: address economic conditions, climate action, food security, inflation, hunger, poverty and the environment; build women’s and widows’ skills and livelihoods; involve youth to uplift industries through agricultural innovation; and turn Pakistan’s barren lands into fruit, vegetable and multiple-cropping orchards that raise exports, taxpayer revenues and jobs.
